Nancy Brinson is an Associate Professor of Advertising and Director of the Information Privacy and Policy Initiative. Her research interests are rooted in her 25-year career as an ad agency media professional, where she witnessed consumer response to personalized advertising plummet as data targeting became increasingly pervasive and granular. Nancy investigates the influence of data privacy concerns on consumer decision making, with emphasis on advertising outcomes, consumer wellbeing, and U.S information privacy policy. Her work has been published in leading marketing and advertising journals, including Journal of International Advertising, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of Interactive Advertising, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Cyberpsychology, Computers in Human Behavior, and Young Consumers.
